These past days I’ve been working hard fulfilling some orders and adding new things to our shop. Several of my students asked me to make 2-in-1 book presses (with sewing frames included). I wanted to add this tool to the shop for quite a long time and here was an opportunity to finally make them and take some photos.
After almost cutting off a piece of my thumb several years ago with my utility knife while preparing boards for a book, I became quite cautious when using sharp instruments. Moreover, always try to pass that idea to my students.
What I truly love about bookbinding (woodworking, other crafts) is that there is always a chance to experiment, find some new tricks, small hacks and create strange jigs. Currently I’m working on a couple of large boxes (for dolls) designed to resemble books. The project brought me a lot of fun, and I plan to share all of it in time =)
