Reading old trade magazines is always the right way to get knowledge and inspiration. Like with this 1911 issue of the Dutch Printer’s Yearbook, where I found mentions of “starch marbling.” This issue of the Russian magazine Art of Print isn’t an exception.
Even if you don’t read Russian, some things may attract your attention. Samples of printing art, schemes of recent inventions, photos of old bindings. Not to mention the fantastic cover!
However, if you understand the language (or use an automatic translation, as the digital copy is OCRed by us,) it opens an amazing insight into the world of printing as it was a century ago!
